
CREATIVE MOVEMENT
Designed for the pre-school age student and offers an introduction to various forms of dance. The class focuses on co-ordination, refining motor skills, musicality and rhythm.
PRE-BALLET / TAP / JAZZ
A class for students preparing them to go in the technique classes. Basic ballet, jazz and tap steps will be taught with an emphasis on musicality, coorination and correct placement.
BALLET TECHNIQUE
Based on a graded syllabus that brings the dancer from the primary level through to the advanced level, providing to the proper building blocks essential in developing a technical foundation. Each student must master the requirements of each level before moving on through the program. Though taken into consideration, age is not the determining factor as to the appropriate level for each student. Students in the Intermediate and Avanced levels will have pre-pointe work and pointe work as part of their class.
MODERN / CONTEMPORARY
Based on the established techniques of Martha Graham, Lester Horton, and Paul Taylor. Improvisation and composition skills are incorporated into the classes. This creative and expressive form of dance is largely a part of any college dance program and can be found in the repertory of most major ballet companies worldwide.
JAZZ
Based on the techniques of Luigi and Gus Giordano. Stretch and flexibility are emphasized along with quick footwork and isolations. Styles range from Broadway choreography to the music video choreography.
TAP
Include various forms such as traditional Broadway and street style "hoofin" techniques.
MUSICAL THEATRE
A dance class focusing on songs/pieces from Broadway shows.
HIP HOP
With its roots in African and native dance, Hip Hop has emerged to become one of the most popular forms of dance in our current culture. Learn the latest trends from old school "poppin-n-lockin" to current urban street.
ACRO
A combination of floor gymnastics elements and dance movements. Students learn tumbling, floor work and jumps incorporated into dance routines.
